Celebrating the 9th International Yoga Day

As part of the theme ‘Ocean Ring of Yoga,’ INS Trishul celebrated the 9th International Yoga Day during its port call. A diverse ensemble of 352 participants, including the ship’s company, officials from the Governor’s and Mayor’s offices, Malagasy Armed Forces, Women Police, members of the Indian Embassy (including the Ambassador of India), doctors, nurses, members of the Indian diaspora, and local citizens, enthusiastically joined forces to actively engage in the event. The celebration aimed to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through the practice of yoga, fostering a sense of unity and harmony.

Professional Interactions and Mutual Understanding

During the visit, the Commanding Officer of INS Trishul paid courtesy calls to Malagasy dignitaries and senior defense officers, further strengthening bilateral relations. The personnel from the Indian and Malagasy Armed Forces engaged in a wide range of professional interactions, including discussions, training sessions, and joint exercises. Such exchanges promote mutual understanding, cooperation, and the sharing of best practices, ultimately enhancing the capabilities of both navies.

Showcasing Musical Performances on World Music Day

Coinciding with the port call, World Music Day was celebrated at Mayor Hall in Toamasina. INS Trishul organized a captivating band performance, featuring the IN Band and the Betsimisaraka Folkloric Group ‘SAHY.’ Dignitaries and local residents had the opportunity to witness and enjoy the diverse musical performances. This cultural exchange showcased the rich heritage and artistic talents of both India and Madagascar, strengthening the cultural ties between the two nations.
