Being a parent is not easy.. In fact, it’s one of the most challenging jobs you will ever undertake. But what if you find yourself not enjoying it? Is that normal?

It can be normal to go through phases where you don’t enjoy being a parent. Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed and stressed. Or maybe you’re just tired. Whatever the reason, it’s important to remember that this is only temporary.

Talk to other parents, reach out for help, and take some time for yourself. You will get through this phase and you will enjoy being a parent again.

It’s normal to sometimes feel annoyed by parenting—and by your kids. According to Pearlman, people who are prone to depression and anxiety are more likely to have a difficult time finding joy in parenting.

It’s perfectly normal to not enjoy being a parent. In fact, it’s perfectly normal to feel like you’re not cut out for parenthood. It’s a lot of work and it’s not always enjoyable. However, if you’re not enjoying it and you’re finding it difficult, there are a few things you can do to make it easier on yourself.

First, talk to your partner. Parenthood is a team effort and you need to be on the same page. If you’re both struggling, you can support each other and make it through this tough time together.

Second, take a break when you can. When your kids are napping or sleeping, take some time for yourself. This can be hard to do when you feel like you have a million things to do, but it’s important to take care of yourself, too.

Third, reach out for help when you need it. There is no shy in admitting that you need help.. Whether it’s hiring a babysitter or asking family and friends for support, don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Parenthood is tough, but it’s also rewarding.
