On the 28th of January Union Minister Jitendra Singh hails India’s achievement of developing four indigenous vaccines in just two years.

India, known for its robust pharmaceutical industry, has achieved a major milestone in the fight against COVID-19. In just two years, the country has developed four indigenous vaccines, which are now being used to protect the population from the virus.

The first vaccine developed in India is Covaxin, developed by Bharat Biotech, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Institute of Virology (NIV). The vaccine is based on inactivated virus technology, and it has been found to be safe and effective in protecting against COVID-19.

The second vaccine is Covishield, developed by the Serum Institute of India, in partnership with AstraZeneca and Oxford University. This vaccine is based on the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vector and has been found to be safe and effective in protecting against COVID-19.

The third vaccine is Sputnik V, which is developed by Russia’s Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology and is being imported into India by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. The vaccine is based on a proven and well-established platform of human adenoviral vectors and has been found to be safe and effective in protecting against COVID-19.

The fourth vaccine is ZyCov-D developed by Zydus Cadila. The vaccine is based on the inactivated virus technology and is found to be safe and effective in protecting against COVID-19.

These four vaccines have been granted Emergency Use Authorisation by India’s drug regulator, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), and are being used to protect the population from COVID-19. The vaccines have been administered to millions of people in India, and the government is working to ensure that all eligible citizens are vaccinated as soon as possible.

This achievement is a testament to India’s strong pharmaceutical industry and the country’s ability to quickly and effectively respond to a global health crisis.

“It also highlights the importance of global collaboration in the fight against COVID-19, as the vaccines have been developed in partnership with international organizations and institutions”.

The development of these vaccines in such a short period of time is a major achievement for India, and it highlights the country’s ability to quickly and effectively respond to a global health crisis.

“It is great news for the people of India and the world as a whole as it shows the power of collaboration and the importance of having multiple vaccine options to combat a pandemic”.
