Since 2 June 2014, Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), born 17 February 1954, has been serving as the first and current Chief Minister of Telangana. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi, a state party in India, was founded and led by him. He has gained recognition for his role in facilitating the Telangana movement to secure statehood for Telangana.
