The Secretary (Telecom) and Chairman of the Digital Communications Commission, Shri K. Rajaraman, launched the ‘IEEE C-DOT Certified Telecom Expert Program (ICCTEP)’ in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT). The program aims to bridge the skills gap in the field of telecommunications, including 5G, Cyber Security, and Quantum Communication.

The Secretary highlighted the critical need for quality learning programs like ICCTEP, which will offer globally-competitive telecom technologies and solutions. The CEO of C-DOT, Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, outlined the plans for expanding the program to include courses in emerging areas such as 6G, quantum communication, and cyber security. ICCTEP is a collaborative effort between C-DOT and IEEE and will offer certification programs tailored to diverse areas of telecom.

The first program on the platform will focus on 5G and beyond. The certification program is backed by micro-learning modules, application modules, and data analytics, leading to a Joint certificate. This collaboration aims to jointly create telecom courses, promote and train students and professionals, create job opportunities, and bridge the digital divide.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) have teamed up to launch the ‘IEEE C-DOT Certified Telecom Expert Program (ICCTEP)’. The aim of the collaboration is to bridge the digital divide and create job opportunities by promoting and training students and professionals in the telecommunications field.

ICCTEP offers a specially-tailored certification program that aims at providing quality learning in diverse areas of telecom, including 5G, Cyber Security, and Quantum Communication. The program was launched by the Secretary (Telecom) and the Chairman of the Digital Communications Commission, Shri K. Rajaraman, who highlighted the critical need for quality learning programs like ICCTEP.

The Chief Executive Officer of C-DOT, Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, outlined the plans of expanding the program to include courses in emerging areas such as 6G, quantum communication, and cyber security.

IEEE Blended Learning Program (BLP) is a key component of ICCTEP, aimed at upskilling young professionals in areas like Wireless, Optical, Broadcasting, Telecom Validation, and Security. The BLP certification program is developed in conjunction with industry leaders and is backed by micro-learning modules, application modules, and data analytics, leading to a Joint certificate.

IEEE is the largest technical professional organization in the world, dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. C-DOT, on the other hand, is the premier R&D center of the Department of Telecommunications in India, known for its indigenous development of cutting-edge telecom technologies.

The collaboration between IEEE and C-DOT is a concrete step towards creating globally-competitive telecom technologies and solutions by building the skills of students, academia, technologists, industry, start-ups, and other relevant stakeholders. The ICCTEP program will be a valuable resource for professionals looking to upskill themselves in the field of telecommunications.
