Kiren Rijiju, the esteemed Cabinet Minister of Earth Sciences in the Government of India since 2023, has taken a proactive stance in championing environmental consciousness. In a recent initiative, he actively participated in the “Clean Sea, Safe Sea / Clean Coast Safe Sea Cleanliness Campaign,” demonstrating his commitment to preserving the planet’s natural beauty and resources.
The campaign, which focuses on raising awareness about the importance of clean seas and safe coastlines, has gained significant momentum, with Kiren Rijiju playing a pivotal role in promoting its message. He emphasized that the responsibility to protect and preserve the Earth lies with every individual.
“We should not destroy our beautiful Earth,” Minister Rijiju urged in a heartfelt message. He further echoed the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been a vocal advocate for embracing the LiFE (Lifestyle for the Environment) approach. This approach emphasizes sustainable living practices and environmental stewardship as essential components of a responsible and conscious lifestyle.
Taking forward the Prime Minister’s visionary agenda, the Ministry of Earth Sciences has embarked on the ambitious “Clean Seas, Safe Seas/Clean Coasts, Safe Seas” cleanup campaign. This extensive initiative spans the entire coastline of India, aiming to not only clean up the coastal areas but also instill a sense of responsibility among the citizens towards protecting the environment.
The campaign encourages citizens to actively participate by sharing photos and messages on social media platforms, using the hashtags #CleanSeaSafeSea and #CleanCoastSafeSea. These digital efforts are instrumental in spreading the message of environmental preservation and garnering support for the cause.
Minister Rijiju’s involvement in this campaign underscores the government’s dedication to addressing environmental challenges. He believes that collective action is the key to ensuring a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future for the planet.
