Assam: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced on Tuesday, February 6, that its construction division has clinched a substantial contract to build the Palashbari to Sualkuchi cable-stayed bridge over the Brahmaputra river in Assam. The state’s Public Works Department (PWD) awarded the project, valued at approximately ₹2,500 crore to ₹5,000 crore, to L&T Construction.

The project encompasses a 3.6 km cable-stayed bridge section, along with a 5.61 km approach on the Palashbari side and a 3 km approach on the Sualkuchi side, including wetland approach viaducts. L&T stated that the cable-stayed portion will have a maximum span of 165 m.

This significant infrastructure undertaking underscores L&T’s prowess in executing complex engineering projects. The cable-stayed bridge is poised to enhance connectivity and facilitate smoother transportation across the Brahmaputra river, thereby contributing to Assam’s socio-economic development.

Larsen & Toubro’s successful bid for this prestigious project reinforces its position as a leading player in the infrastructure sector, committed to delivering high-quality and innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of the nation.
