Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Congress Announces Candidates for Odisha

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has unveiled the list of candidates set to contest in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 from Odisha, gearing up for the upcoming fourth phase of polling slated to cover 96 seats across 10 states.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the AICC declared the following members as Congress candidates for the forthcoming elections to the Legislative Assembly of Odisha:

  1. Debendra Kumar Sahoo – Mahanga constituency.
  2. Satyabadi Manoj Rath – Satyabadi constituency.
  3. Prakash Chandra Jena – Bhubaneswar Central constituency.
  4. Ashok Kumar Das – Bhubaneswar North constituency.

With Phase 4 of the general elections set to encompass 96 Lok Sabha seats across 10 states, including Odisha, polling is scheduled to take place on May 13 from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, as per the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) notification.

Apart from Odisha, the states where polling will be conducted in the fourth phase include Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jammu and Kashmir. Odisha is slated to undergo three more phases of polling on May 20, May 25, and June 1.

As the electoral process unfolds, voters across India prepare for the upcoming phases:

  • Phase 1 voting: April 19
  • Phase 2 voting: April 26
  • Phase 3 voting: May 7
  • Phase 4 voting: May 13
  • Phase 5 voting: May 20
  • Phase 6 voting: May 25
  • Phase 7 voting: June 1

The culmination of the electoral journey will witness the counting of votes on June 4, determining the fate of candidates and the political landscape of the nation.
