Despite the Eid holiday, the much-anticipated film “Maidaan” started with shockingly low numbers at the box office. The urban centers, expected to see a surge in numbers post-noon, witnessed dismal Day 1 business, far below expectations, with Wednesday previews and Thursday collections totaling ₹7.25 crores.
“Maidaan” has garnered glorious word of mouth, but it needs to translate into actual audience footfalls, especially over the weekend. A significant turnaround in numbers on Saturday and Sunday is crucial for its success. The upcoming days will determine the trajectory of its box office performance.
