Despite positive reviews and an extended four-day weekend including Wednesday previews, “Maidaan” didn’t reach expected box office heights. Urban areas saw better performance, but Friday (the second day of Eid) and the weekend should have seen higher numbers.
Wednesday previews and Thursday (Eid) brought in 7.25 crore, followed by 2.80 crore on Friday, 5.65 crore on Saturday, and 6.52 crore on Sunday, totaling ₹22.22 crore in India.
The film receives tremendous appreciation, with no major releases in the near future, which may help its sustained performance. The real test awaits with Monday’s performance.
