Building Collapse: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has responded swiftly to the tragic incident of a building collapse in the Garden Reach area of Kolkata. Expressing sadness over the disaster, she lauded the efforts of the Mayor, Fire Minister, Secretaries, Commissioner of Police, and teams from various agencies who have been tirelessly working at the site throughout the night to manage the crisis.
In a statement, Mamata Banerjee affirmed the government’s commitment to providing compensation to the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the incident, as well as to those who sustained injuries. She reassured the affected families of her solidarity, emphasizing that rescue operations will continue unabated.
The collapse of the under-construction building has raised concerns about safety standards in construction projects and the need for stringent regulations to prevent such tragedies in the future. Mamata Banerjee’s swift response and assurance of support underscore the government’s commitment to addressing the aftermath of the disaster and ensuring the well-being of affected individuals and families.
