In 2019, Uttar Pradesh hosted a grand and divine Kumbh in Prayagraj, which was widely acclaimed for its scale and grandeur. The state has also made arrangements to organize a Mahakumbh in 2025, with a budget of ₹2,500 crores set aside for the event. The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Policy has allocated a whopping ₹1,29,498 crore for the development of tourism infrastructure in the state. This investment is expected to create employment opportunities for around 3,52,800 people, which will go a long way in boosting the state’s economy.
