Union Home Minister Amit Shah Inaugurates NCB Zonal Office in Raipur

NCB Zonal Office: Union Home Minister Amit Shah virtually inaugurated the (Narcotics Control Bureau) NCB Zonal Unit in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. During the event, he chaired a review meeting on the state’s narcotics situation, joined by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, and other key officials.

Commitment to a Drug-Free India by 2047

Shri Shah reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of achieving a drug-free India by 2047. He stressed that drugs pose not just a national threat but a global menace, urging a collective and comprehensive strategy to combat this issue, which weakens national security and promotes terrorism.

NCB Zonal Office: Combatting Drug Trafficking with a Strategic Approach

Amit Shah highlighted the shifting trend from natural to synthetic drugs, noting the alarming statistics in Chhattisgarh. He called for a scientific, “Top to Bottom and Bottom to Top” approach to dismantle drug networks and emphasized the importance of detection, destruction, detention, and rehabilitation in this fight.

Shri Shah lauded NCB’s performance over the past decade, noting a significant rise in cases, arrests, and drug seizures under PM Modi’s leadership. He emphasized transforming the fight against drugs into a “Jan Andolan” (people’s movement) by raising awareness among the youth and general public to achieve the goal of a drug-free India.
