On 8th of November, the Ministry of Railway informed about the Railway Infrastructure that a Total of 1,729 km of New Line/Gauge Conversion/ Doubling work has been completed in FY 2022-23 till 31st October.
This data has been taken up to 31st October 2022.
In the financial year 2021-2022, this was about 831 km (April-October) and in the Financial year 2022-2023(April-October), this is 1,729 km.
The Ministry of Railways is account for the country’s rail transport. The statutory body Indian Railways, an organization that operates as a monopoly in rail transport, is headed by the Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board and operated by the ministry. Rail Bhawan in New Delhi houses the Ministry of Railways and the Railway Board.
