Modi dedicated three national ayush institutes to the nation

Shri Narendra Modi on 11th December 2022, announced Union Minister of Ayush Shri Sarbananda Sonowal today. The satellite institutes will strengthen research, international collaborations, and facilitate affordable Ayush services for the community. Shri Sarbananda Sonowal also gave details of 9th World Ayurveda Congress (WAC) while addressing the media, which will showcase the scientificity, efficacy, and strength of Ayush System of Medicines at a Global level in Panjim, Goa. On this occasion, Minister of State of Ayush Dr. Munjapara Mahendrabhai, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, and other officials of Ministry of Ayush were present. The Prime Minister will also attend the valedictory function of the WAC on December 11th in Goa.

Shri Sarbananda Sonowal said that the establishment of these institutes is in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of expanding infrastructure and human resources, as well as promoting research in traditional medical systems. The Government of India will strengthen its capabilities to provide affordable healthcare to every citizen and every region of the country through these institutes. The establishment of these three National Ayush institutes in Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Unani will create 400 additional seats for students who want to pursue UG, PG and Doctoral courses, & also add 550 additional beds in these three streams. The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Goa will provide high-quality facilities for undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral students studying aspects of education, research, and patient care services through the Ayurveda system of medicine. The sentence will be developed into a wellness hub of Ayurveda promoting Medical Value Travel (MVT) & will function as a model centre for international and national collaboration for academic & research purposes.

To provide health care facilities, the National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH), Delhi is the first of its kind to be established in Northern India for developing the Homoeopathic system of medicine. To mainstream and integrate Ayush healthcare services with modern medicines, encourage R&D and innovation, and develop National Institutes of repute.

The National Institute of Unani Medicine in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh will be a satellite Centre of the existing National Institute of Unani Medicine in Bangalore. It will be the first such institute in Northern India and will cater to the patients around Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and other states of India as well as foreign nationals under MVT.

The 9th World Ayurveda Congress (WAC) will be organized by the Ministry of Ayush in collaboration with Panjim, Goa. The event will showcase the scientificity, efficacy, and strength of the Ayush System of Medicines at a global level. The Ayush fraternity is participating in various activities, discussions, and presentations to achieve this goal.
