Amit Shah, India’s Home Minister, declared the extension of the ban on the ‘Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (Mohd. Yasin Malik faction)’ for an additional five years. Shah cited the group’s persistent involvement in activities promoting terrorism and secessionism in Jammu and Kashmir.
In his statement, Amit Shah emphasized the Modi government’s firm stance against any threat to the security, sovereignty, and integrity of the nation. He warned that individuals found challenging these aspects would face severe legal consequences.
The decision to prolong the ban underscores the government’s commitment to combating terrorism and maintaining peace in the region. It also serves as a clear message to groups engaging in unlawful activities that such actions will not be tolerated.
