NEET PG 2024: In the latest development on NEET PG 2024, there is a tentative exam date set for July, with counseling to follow in August. Contrary to previous expectations, there won’t be a National Exit Test (NExT) conducted this year. The recently notified Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations 2023 propose NExT as a replacement for the current NEET PG exam. However, for the current admission cycle, candidates can rely on the familiar NEET PG pathway for MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses.
The recently announced Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations 2023 aim to replace the existing NEET PG exam, as outlined in the Post Graduate Medical Education (Amendment) Regulations 2018. This regulation shift signifies a move towards introducing the National Exit Test for PG admissions.
NEET PG has traditionally served as a national-level test, allowing candidates to secure admission in various PG courses, including MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses. Operating under the National Medical Commission Act 2019, NEET PG has been the primary gateway for postgraduate medical education.
While the proposal for NExT is on the horizon, there’s a clear indication that this examination won’t be implemented this year. The selection process for PG courses in the current academic year will adhere to the traditional pattern, relying on NEET PG.
Amidst earlier uncertainties and doubts among candidates regarding the transition from NEET PG to NExT, this update provides clarity for the upcoming academic cycle. Aspiring candidates can now prepare for NEET PG 2024, with the assurance that the familiar selection process will continue for the current year.
