Visakhapatnam: On the 3rd of March Nitin Gadkari, the Minister for Road Transport and Highways addressed the Global Investment Summit (GIS) 2023 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The summit was aimed at attracting investment from across the globe to the state of Andhra Pradesh.
During his address, Gadkari highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in driving economic growth. He spoke about the government’s focus on building world-class highways and ports, which are crucial for boosting trade and commerce in the country. Gadkari also emphasized the need to promote electric vehicles and renewable energy in the transport sector, in line with the government’s vision to reduce carbon emissions.
Gadkari lauded Andhra Pradesh for its efforts in promoting industrial growth and entrepreneurship, stating that the state has immense potential for growth in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, textiles, and food processing. He emphasized the need for the state to develop an ecosystem that promotes innovation and encourages startups, which would create employment opportunities and spur economic growth.
The GIS 2023 summit was organized by the Andhra Pradesh government in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The summit aimed to showcase the state’s potential as a hub for investment and business, with a focus on sectors such as infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and tourism.
The summit saw the participation of several leading Indian and international companies, including Adani Group, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Group, and Siemens. The summit provided a platform for these companies to showcase their products and services and explore investment opportunities in the state.
The Andhra Pradesh government has been actively promoting the state as a destination for investment, with initiatives such as the ‘Sunrise Andhra Pradesh’ program, which aims to create a business-friendly environment and attract investment across various sectors. The state’s strategic location, skilled workforce, and robust infrastructure have made it an attractive destination for investors.
Nitin Gadkari’s address at the GIS 2023 summit highlights the government’s commitment to promoting infrastructure development and creating a conducive environment for investment. The summit provides a platform for companies to explore investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh, which has emerged as a promising destination for investment and business.
