Arunachal Pradesh: In a significant move towards bolstering infrastructure in the Northeastern region of India, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, has sanctioned a substantial fund of Rs. 2,248.94 crore for the construction of the Lada-Sarli section of NH-913, commonly known as the Frontier Highway, in Arunachal Pradesh. This crucial development project will be executed in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode and will cover a length of 105.59 kilometers, encompassing Packages 1, 2, 3, and 6.
The approval for this project underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity in remote and strategically important areas of Arunachal Pradesh. Shri Gadkari highlighted the multifaceted benefits of this initiative, emphasizing its potential to stimulate tourism and serve the sparsely populated regions of Upper Arunachal. Moreover, the project anticipates a future surge in traffic volume, aligning with the government’s vision to fortify the transportation network in the region.
The Lada-Sarli section of NH-913 assumes paramount significance in the broader context of infrastructural development in Arunachal Pradesh. As a greenfield road project, it is poised to open up new avenues for economic growth and social development in the region. By bridging the existing gaps in connectivity, the highway will facilitate smoother movement of goods and people, thereby fostering trade and commerce in the area.
