Prakash Javadekar is a well-known Indian politician and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is a former Union Minister of India, having served in various portfolios such as Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Human Resource Development, and Information and Broadcasting.
Javadekar (born January 30, 1951) Pune, Maharashtra, India. He completed his education at the University of Pune and began his career as a journalist. He worked as a correspondent for various newspapers and also worked as a newsreader for All India Radio.
Javadekar entered politics in the 1980s and has been an active member of the BJP since then. He has served as the president of the Maharashtra unit of the party and has been a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Council. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament, for the first time in 2008.
In 2014, Javadekar was appointed as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change in the Modi government. In this role, he was responsible for implementing policies related to the environment and wildlife conservation. He also played a key role in the drafting of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
In 2016, Javadekar was given the additional charge of the Ministry of Human Resource Development. In this role, he was responsible for the development and implementation of policies related to education and skill development. He also played a key role in the launch of the Skill India and Make in India initiatives.
In 2017, Javadekar was appointed as the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, where he played a key role in the implementation of policies related to the Indian broadcasting sector. He also played a key role in the launch of the Prasar Bharati Digital Terrestrial Transmission (DTT) service.
In 2019, Javadekar was appointed as the Minister of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, where he continued to work on policies related to the environment and wildlife conservation.
Javadekar is known for his strong leadership skills and his ability to implement policies effectively. He is a respected figure in the BJP and is considered to be a close confidant of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is also known for his work in the field of education and his efforts to promote skill development in India.
