On the 7th of March Nitin Gadkari said, “May this auspicious festival of Holi filled with love, harmony, and colors bring happiness, peace, and prosperity in everyone’s life by burning negativity and malice”.
Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, recently wished everyone a happy and prosperous Holi. In his message, he emphasized the significance of the festival and urged people to embrace the spirit of love, harmony, and positivity that it represents.
Gadkari’s message resonates with the essence of Holi, a festival that marks the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and love over hate. It is a time when people come together to celebrate, forgive, and forget, and to renew their bonds of friendship and brotherhood.
As Gadkari pointed out, Holi is also an occasion to burn negativity and malice. The festival is traditionally associated with the ritual of Holika Dahan, in which people light bonfires to symbolize the burning of all that is evil and negative. This act is a reminder that we must let go of our grudges, resentments, and animosities and strive to cultivate a positive outlook toward life.
The colors of Holi are also a powerful symbol of love and unity. As people play with colors and smear each other’s faces with hues of pink, blue, green, and yellow, they dissolve the barriers of caste, creed, and religion and embrace each other as fellow human beings. This is a manifestation of the timeless Indian ethos of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ which means ‘the world is one family.’
Gadkari’s message of love, harmony, and prosperity is a timely reminder of the values that we must cherish and uphold, not just during Holi but throughout the year. In these trying times, when the world is grappling with a pandemic and its aftermath, it is essential to nurture positive emotions and cultivate a sense of togetherness and empathy.
