On the 13th of February, Nitin Gadkari extends greetings to renowned singer Padma Bhushan Ustad Amir Khan on his death anniversary.
Indian classical music has a rich history and a long line of legendary musicians. One of the most revered and respected names in this tradition is Ustad Amir Khan. Amir Khan was a legendary Indian classical singer known for his unique style and contribution to Indian classical music. He was born in 1912 in Kalanaur, India, and passed away in 1974. He was a member of the Indore Gharana, one of the oldest and most prestigious music schools in India.
Ustad Amir Khan started his musical journey at a very young age. He received his first music lessons from his father, who was also a musician. He was trained in the traditional Indian classical style and was soon recognized as a talented musician. He made his first public performance at the age of 12 and quickly gained popularity.
In the 1930s, he moved to Mumbai and began to perform on All India Radio. He was soon in demand for performances across India and abroad. He traveled extensively and performed for audiences in India, Europe, and the Middle East. He was known for his unique style of singing, which combined the traditional Indian classical style with elements of other musical traditions.
