Know about Dr. Jitendra Singh:-

Jitendra Singh, born on November 6, 1956, in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, emerged from a Hindu Dogra Rajput family. His early years in Jammu shaped his robust foundation. A distinguished physician specializing in diabetes and endocrinology, Singh served as a professor while actively engaging as a columnist for newspapers. His contributions to diabetes research in India, coupled with his insightful columns, reflect his commitment to both medical science and public communication.

Jitendra Singh’s foray into politics was gradual yet impactful. His stint as the spokesperson of the Shri Amarnathji Sangharsh Samiti marked a significant turn, leading to his eventual alignment with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Despite initial setbacks in becoming a candidate, his perseverance and dedication were unwavering, ultimately propelling him into the parliamentary arena.

The Indian general elections of 2014 and 2019 saw Singh’s resounding victories from the Udhampur constituency, marking a new chapter in his political journey. Notably, his margin of victory was the highest ever recorded in those Lok Sabha elections.

Jitendra Singh‘s contributions as Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministries of Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space have been noteworthy. His initiatives included India’s indigenously developed research vessel and significant cooperative agreements for space exploration and satellite technology.

“Singh’s political stances on Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and the region’s governance underscore his perspective on historical policies and their implications for the state’s future”.
