Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated the 4-Lane Section between Nagaon Bypass-Teliagaon and Teliagaon-Rangagara in Assam, while also laying the foundation for the Mangaldai Bypass and the 4-lane section between Daboka-Parakhuwa. The ceremony took place through video conferencing and was attended by Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, MP Shri Dilip Saikia, MP Shri Pradyut Bordoloi, and State Minister of Forest & Environment Shri Chandra Mohan Patowary. These projects, with a total investment of 1450 Crores, signify a significant boost to the state’s infrastructure.

The newly opened 4-Lane section, spanning 18 kilometers between Nagaon Bypass-Teliagaon and Teliagaon-Rangagara, holds a value of Rs 403 Crore. This widened highway greatly improves accessibility between North Assam and Upper Assam, thereby stimulating economic growth and creating new avenues for development.

The foundation stone for the construction of a 15-kilometer bypass in Mangaldai on NH 15 was also laid during the event. With a total cost of 535 Crores, this project aims to strengthen the connectivity between Assam, West Bengal, and Arunachal Pradesh, facilitating seamless travel and promoting regional integration.

Another significant foundation stone laid was for the 13-kilometer bypass between Daboka and Parakhuwa on NH-29. This project, amounting to a total cost of 517 Crores, reinforces the connections along the Guwahati-Dimapur Economic Corridor and promotes links to Myanmar and Thailand. The bypass will enhance inter-regional connectivity between Assam and Nagaland, fostering economic and social ties.

These infrastructure developments led by the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways are indicative of the government’s commitment to enhancing transportation networks and promoting regional growth. The improved connectivity between various regions of Assam and neighboring states will facilitate trade, commerce, and tourism, thereby contributing to the overall development of the state. Additionally, these projects will provide employment opportunities, boost local economies, and enhance the overall quality of life for the people of Assam.
