On the 30th of January, Nitin Gadkari pays humble tribute to the great poet and litterateur Jaishankar Prasad on his birth anniversary.
Jaishankar Prasad (1889-1937) was a renowned Hindi poet, playwright, and novelist from India. He was born in a small village called Babhan Bazaar in the district of Saran, Bihar.
Prasad was a versatile writer who wrote in various forms such as poetry, plays, and novels. He wrote over 50 plays and several novels, but it is his poetry that made him one of the most celebrated Hindi poets of his time. His poetry is known for its simplicity, beauty, and deep emotional appeal.
Prasad’s most famous work is his poetry collection “Kamayani,” which is considered a masterpiece in Hindi literature. The collection is a mix of mythological and modern themes, and it explores the human condition and the search for meaning in life. The poetry is marked by a deep sense of longing and a yearning for the divine.
Prasad’s plays were also popular and critically acclaimed. He wrote plays in various genres, including historical plays, mythological plays, and social plays. His most famous plays are “Dhruva Charitra,” “Ratnavali,” and “Malavikagnimitra.”
Prasad was also a novelist and his novel “Chhaya” is considered one of the most important works in Hindi literature. The novel is a story of love, passion, and sacrifice, and it explores the social and moral issues of the time.
Prasad’s literary career was cut short by his untimely death in 1937, but his legacy lives on. He is considered one of the most important figures in Hindi literature and his work continues to be widely read and studied.
His poetry, plays, and novels are considered to be milestones in Hindi literature, and his work continues to inspire generations of writers.
