Nitish Bharadwaj, an Indian actor, director, screenwriter, and producer of films and TV programs, was born on June 2, 1963. He is also a graduate of Mumbai Veterinary college, and he used to be a Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha.
Nitish Bharadwaj is best known for his roles as Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu in B. R. Chopra’s television series ”Mahabharat”, as well as for his portrayal of several avatars of ”Lord Vishnu” in some of Chopra’s other great works, such as ”Vishnu Puran”. He now focuses on his film career entirely through screenwriting, directing, and acting after his debut directorial film in Marathi, titled Pitruroon, won him accolades from both audiences and critics.
Early life:
Janardan C. Upadhye, a Senior Advocate of the Bombay High Court and a veteran labour lawyer, fathered Nitish Bharadwaj on 2 June 1963. George Fernandes’s close aide in the labour movement during the 60s and 70s. Sadhana Upadhye, Bharadwaj’s mother, was the Head of the Marathi Literature department at Wilson College, Mumbai. She taught Bharadwaj the ”Bhagvad Geeta” and ”Dnyaneshwari” in childhood. Rahul Upadhye Bharadwaj is his younger brother.
Personal life:
Bharadwaj married Monisha Patil in 1991. Monisha is the daughter of Vimla Patil, who was then the editor of Femina. Nitish Bharadwaj has two children, a son, and a daughter, and they got divorced in 2005. Bharadwaj married Smita Gate, an IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre (1992 batch), in 2009 and they have twin daughters. The couple’s separation in September 2019 was confirmed in January 2022.
