Tomorrow marks the commencement of nominations for the third phase of General Elections 2024, covering a total of 94 Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs) across 12 States/UTs. The Gazette notification for these constituencies, as well as for the adjourned poll in 29-Betul (ST) PC of Madhya Pradesh, will be issued.
The polling for these 94 PCs, along with the adjourned poll in 29-Betul (ST) PC of Madhya Pradesh, is scheduled to take place on May 7, 2024. The election for 29-Betul (ST) PC, initially slated for the second phase, was adjourned following the demise of a contesting candidate from the Bahujan Samaj Party.
The States/UTs included in Phase 3 of the General Elections 2024 are Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
With the issuance of the Gazette notification tomorrow, the electoral process for Phase 3 will officially kick off, marking another crucial milestone in India’s democratic exercise. As the nation gears up for yet another round of elections, stakeholders and citizens alike eagerly await the unfolding of this democratic spectacle.
