The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the state of Chhattisgarh, indicating the likelihood of heavy rainfall over the next two days. The alert, in effect for September 4th and 5th, advises residents to be prepared for isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall, with precipitation levels ranging from 115.6 to 204.4 mm.
This alert comes as a precautionary measure to inform the public and authorities about the anticipated weather conditions. Heavy rainfall can lead to localized flooding, waterlogging, and disruptions in normal life. Therefore, residents are urged to exercise caution, follow safety guidelines, and stay informed about the evolving weather situation.
“Taking preventive measures during adverse weather conditions is essential to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals and communities. It is advisable to stay updated with weather forecasts and alerts issued by the IMD and to take appropriate steps to mitigate potential risks”.
