Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya reaffirmed the Uttar Pradesh government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring quality education for the state’s children. In a significant move, the government has undertaken initiatives to create a favorable learning environment and support students in their educational journey.
School Chalo Abhiyan: Enrolling Millions
One of the notable initiatives is the ‘School Chalo Abhiyan,’ aimed at increasing school enrollment across the state. Under this campaign, more than 1.91 crore children have been successfully enrolled in educational institutions. This achievement reflects the government’s dedication to expanding access to education and ensuring that no child is left behind.
Financial Support for Students
Recognizing the financial burden that can come with education, the Uttar Pradesh government has taken proactive steps to alleviate these challenges. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya announced that ₹1,200 per student is being transferred directly to the bank accounts of parents. This financial assistance is specifically intended for students in classes 1 to 8 and can be used to purchase textbooks, uniforms, shoes and socks, bags, and stationery.
The move to provide financial support directly to parents is a strategic step to empower families and enable them to invest in their children’s education. It not only removes financial barriers but also promotes parental involvement in their child’s educational journey.
A Conducive Environment for Learning
Deputy Chief Minister Maurya’s statement underscores the government’s vision to create an environment where quality education is accessible to all. Quality education is not just about infrastructure and resources but also about fostering a culture of learning and academic excellence. By ensuring that children have the necessary tools and resources, the government is nurturing the future leaders and innovators of the state.
