Parshuram Jayanti: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended heartfelt wishes to families nationwide on the auspicious occasion of Parshuram Jayanti, celebrating the birth anniversary of the revered Vedic sage Brahmarshi Parshuram, believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
Parshuram Jayanti, observed on the Tritiya Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Vaishakha, holds deep significance in Hindu mythology. It commemorates the birth of Lord Parshuram, born to sage Jamdagni and Renuka, and revered for his valor and dedication to protecting sages and saints on earth.
Legend has it that Lord Parshuram’s birth occurred on Akshaya Tritiya in Pradosh Kaal, hence the celebration on Vaishakh Tritiya tithi in Pradosh Kaal. According to Hindu beliefs, Lord Parshuram is the combined incarnation of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, embodying divine qualities and the spirit of righteousness.
The festival is marked by prayers, devotional songs, and rituals honoring Lord Parshuram’s legacy. Devotees visit temples dedicated to him, seeking blessings for strength, wisdom, and prosperity. The occasion serves as a reminder of the eternal principles of duty and righteousness upheld by Lord Parshuram.
