Lok Sabha Elections: Phase-5 of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 marks the participation of 695 candidates across 49 Parliamentary Constituencies in 8 States/UTs. With 1586 nominations filed, Maharashtra emerges with the highest, followed closely by Uttar Pradesh. Notably, each PC averages 14 contestants, showcasing the fervent democratic process in action.
In Maharashtra, 512 nomination forms were filed for 13 PCs, resulting in 264 final contestants. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh saw 466 nominations for 14 PCs, leading to 144 valid candidates. Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal also witness significant electoral participation.
