On 2nd of March Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, recently spoke at the ICC’s ‘National Conference on PM Gatishakti’, where he shared his vision for the country’s logistics and infrastructure planning. He expressed his excitement for the new era of development that the novel master plan would usher in, and how it would boost growth and development across the nation.
The PM Gatishakti master plan is a comprehensive plan that aims to enhance and improve the country’s infrastructure, including roads, railways, ports, airports, and inland waterways. The plan also focuses on improving connectivity, reducing logistics costs, and boosting the country’s economic growth. The plan is a significant step towards fulfilling the country’s infrastructure requirements and achieving the government’s vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India).
During his speech, Goyal highlighted how PM Gatishakti’s master plan would help create an efficient logistics ecosystem in the country. He stated that the plan would integrate all modes of transportation and provide a seamless network to transport goods across the country. This integration would reduce the overall transportation time and cost, thereby increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of Indian industries.
Goyal further explained that PM Gatishakti’s master plan would create several job opportunities across various sectors, including construction, logistics, and manufacturing. He emphasized that the government’s focus was not only on creating physical infrastructure but also on creating a skilled workforce that could contribute to the country’s economic growth.
The minister also spoke about the importance of sustainability in PM Gatishakti’s master plan. He stated that the plan was not only aimed at economic growth but also at environmental sustainability. The plan would incorporate various eco-friendly measures, such as the use of electric vehicles, solar power, and rainwater harvesting, to reduce the country’s carbon footprint.
Piyush Goyal’s speech at the ICC’s ‘National Conference on PM Gatishakti’ highlighted the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and economic growth.
