Shri Parkash Singh Badal Ji’s Contribution to Indian Politics and Punjab
Parkash Singh Badal, who passed away on 25th April 2023, was a veteran politician and a stalwart of Indian politics. Born on 8th December 1927 in Abul Khurana village of Bathinda district, Punjab, he was the five-time Chief Minister of Punjab, served as the Chief Minister of Punjab for five terms, beginning in 1970 and subsequently serving from 1977 to 1980, 1997 to 2002, 2007 to 2012, and 2012 to 2017. He was also a former Union Minister, holding portfolios such as Agriculture, Irrigation, and Food Processing in the Government of India.
