Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin, born on March 1, 1953, has been a prominent figure in Indian politics, serving as the 8th and current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu since 2021. As the son of the revered former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, Stalin has followed in his father’s footsteps, leading the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party since August 28, 2018. His political journey also includes notable positions such as the Mayor of Chennai from 1996 to 2002 and the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from 2009 to 2011.
M.K. Stalin’s contributions to Tamil Nadu’s governance and his steadfast leadership have earned him recognition and respect both within the state and across the nation. Throughout his political career, he has held significant positions, including serving as the Mayor of Chennai from 1996 to 2002 and as the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from 2009 to 2011.
