In a heartfelt response to a devastating bus accident that occurred in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi expressed his condolences and solidarity with the affected families. The accident, which resulted in loss of lives and injuries, prompted the Prime Minister to announce immediate financial assistance from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
The Prime Minister’s Office shared the following message on Twitter:
“Pained by the loss of lives due to a bus accident near Coonoor in Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I pray that the injured recover soon. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. Those injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM @narendramodi”
Prime Minister Modi’s compassionate gesture not only offers solace to the grieving families but also underscores the government’s commitment to providing support during times of crisis. As the affected individuals and their families cope with this tragedy, the financial aid announced by the Prime Minister aims to alleviate their immediate financial burdens and facilitate the process of recovery and healing.
