In a message marking Maharashtra Statehood Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the enduring legacy and resilient spirit of Maharashtra. He celebrated the state as a bastion of tradition, progress, and unity, honoring its esteemed visionaries and cultural diversity.
“Maharashtra Statehood Day is about celebrating the glorious legacy and indomitable spirit of this land which has produced great visionaries and is associated with cultural richness,” PM Modi remarked, highlighting the profound contributions of Maharashtra to India’s cultural tapestry.
Reflecting on the state’s progress, PM Modi reaffirmed the government’s dedication to Maharashtra’s advancement. “We also reaffirm our commitment to keep working for Maharashtra’s progress,” he affirmed, extending his heartfelt greetings to the people of Maharashtra on this auspicious occasion.
Maharashtra Day, colloquially known as Maharashtra Din, commemorates the formation of the state of Maharashtra on May 1, 1960, following the reorganization of the Bombay State. This state holiday is marked by parades, political speeches, and various ceremonies that pay homage to Maharashtra’s rich history and vibrant traditions.
As Maharashtra celebrates its Statehood Day, the occasion serves as a poignant reminder of the state’s journey and the collective aspirations of its people. It is a time to cherish Maharashtra’s cultural heritage and reaffirm the commitment to its continued progress and prosperity.
