PM Modi Holds Bilateral Meeting with Bhutanese Counterpart Tshering Tobgay

Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed His Excellency Dasho Tshering Tobgay, the Prime Minister of Bhutan, to New Delhi yesterday for an official visit, marking Tobgay’s first overseas trip since assuming office in February 2024.

During their meeting, the two leaders conducted a comprehensive review of the progress made in various facets of bilateral cooperation. Discussions centered on key areas such as infrastructure development, connectivity, energy, hydropower collaboration, and people-to-people exchanges. Both reaffirmed their commitment to fortify the longstanding and distinctive friendship between India and Bhutan.

In a significant gesture, PM Tshering Tobgay extended a warm invitation to Prime Minister Modi on behalf of His Majesty the King of Bhutan to visit Bhutan next week, which was graciously accepted by Prime Minister Modi, signifying the enduring bond between the two nations.
