PM Modi Launches ₹15,000 Crore Development Projects in West Bengal

West Bengal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone for several development projects worth Rs. 15,000 crore in Krishnanagar, Nadia district, West Bengal. These projects, spanning across the power, rail, and road sectors, mark a significant milestone in the state’s journey towards progress and development.

“Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of these projects in making West Bengal a Viksit (developed) state. He highlighted the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and providing better employment opportunities for the youth of the state”.

One of the key projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister is the Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station Phase II, which will bring significant investment of over Rs. 11,000 crore to the state and address its energy needs. Additionally, the Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) system at the Mejia Thermal Power Station demonstrates India’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

Prime Minister Modi also underscored the importance of modern connectivity for West Bengal’s development, announcing road projects like the four-laning of the Farakka-Raiganj Section of NH-12 and railway projects aimed at improving rail connectivity and facilitating economic growth.

The presence of Governor Dr. C V Ananda Bose and Union Minister Shantanu Thakur highlights the collaborative efforts of the state and central governments towards West Bengal’s development.
