Navratri: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expresses reverence on the commencement of Chaitra Navratri, offering prayers to Maa Shailputri for divine strength and vitality to all. As Hindus mark the onset of the nine-day festival dedicated to Goddess Durga and her incarnations, PM Modi’s tribute invokes blessings for the well-being of the nation.
Chaitra Navratri, beginning on April 9, coincides with various Indian festivals like Gudi Padwa and Ugadi, signifying the advent of summer. The first day of Navratri holds special significance as devotees worship Maa Shailputri, the embodiment of prosperity and mother nature.
Maa Shailputri, the daughter of Lord Himalaya, symbolizes purity, peace, and innocence. Mounted on a bull and wielding a Trishul and lotus flower, she governs the Moon and is revered for spiritual awakening. Her name, Shailputri, signifies her lineage as the daughter of the mountain.
Devotees perform Ghatasthapana, marking the beginning of Navratri festivities, and seek blessings for abundance and well-being. As PM Modi’s words resonate, invoking the blessings of Maa Shailputri, may the spirit of Navratri bring renewed energy and prosperity to all.
