On 26th December PM Modi said, “Capable youth of any nation can turn the tide of time forever with their courage. With this determination, today the young generation of India has set out to take the country to a new height. In such a situation, the role of Veer Bal Diwas has become more important on 26 December”.
PM Modi, the Prime Minister, participated in a historic program marking ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi. Approximately three hundred Baal Kirtanis performed a ‘Shabad Kirtan’ which the Prime Minister attended during the program.
About three thousand children in Delhi march-pasted on this momentous occasion, which was also flagged off by the Prime Minister.
On 26th December 2021, the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the PM had announced that 9th January would be observed as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’, to mark the martyrdom of the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh – Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji.
The Prime Minister, addressing the gathering, remarked that India is celebrating the first Veer Bal Diwas today. We all come together on this day to honor the sacrifices of those who came before us and to start anew as a nation. The Prime Minister said that Shaheedi Saptah and Veer Bal Diwas are not just a cauldron of emotions but a source of infinite inspiration.
“Age does not matter when it comes to extreme valor and sacrifice,” said the Prime Minister on Veer Bal Diwas. The immense contribution of ten Sikh gurus and the sacrifice of the Sikh tradition for protecting the honor of the nation will be remembered on Veer Bal Diwas. ”
Modi said, “A new beginning has come to pay homage as a nation to the sacrifice we have been remembering for generations. Veer Bal Diwas is reminding us that what is the sacrifice of Sikh tradition for the pride of the country. What is India, what is the identity of India.”
To inform and educate the citizens, especially young children, about the story of the exemplary courage of the Sahibzades, the Government is organizing interactive and participative programs all over the country.
Quiz competitions and other activities will be organized in schools and colleges across the country in order to improve essay writing skills. Digital exhibitions will be set up in public places like railway stations, airports, etc. Programs will be organized all over the country where dignitaries will narrate the life story and sacrifice of the Sahibzades.
