On the 14th of February The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi pays tributes to the martyrs of Pulwama.
In a tweet, the PM said, “Remembering our brave heroes, whom we lost on this day in Pulwama. We will never forget their supreme sacrifice. Their courage inspires us to build a strong and developed India.”
The Pulwama attack was a terrorist attack that took place on February 14, 2019, in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir in India. A convoy of vehicles carrying Indian security personnel was attacked by a suicide bomber, resulting in the deaths of 40 CRPF personnel.
The attack was carried out by a terrorist group based in Pakistan, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), and it was widely condemned by the international community. The Indian government responded by launching a surgical strike against a JeM training camp in Pakistan, which further escalated tensions between the two countries.
The Pulwama attack was one of the deadliest attacks on Indian security forces in recent years and was a stark reminder of the ongoing conflict in the region. It sparked outrage and anger among the Indian public, who demanded justice for the slain soldiers.
In the aftermath of the attack, the Indian government took several measures to combat terrorism, including launching a diplomatic offensive to isolate Pakistan on the international stage, revoking the Most Favored Nation status granted to Pakistan, and banning the Jamaat-e-Islami, a group with alleged ties to JeM.
The Pulwama attack also highlighted the need for greater cooperation between India and other countries in the fight against terrorism. The international community must come together to combat terrorism and prevent such attacks from happening in the future.
The Pulwama attack was a tragic event that claimed the lives of 40 brave soldiers. It was a reminder of the ongoing conflict in the region and the threat of terrorism. The attack brought to the forefront the need for greater international cooperation in the fight against terrorism and the need to hold the perpetrators accountable. We must continue to work towards peace and stability in the region and ensure that such attacks never happen again.
