PM Modi To Lay Foundation Stone Projects Worth More Than Rs.7800 Crore In West Bengal.

PM of India, Modi, will visit West Bengal on December 30th, 2022. Prime Minister will reach Howrah Railway Station at around 11:15 AM, where he will flag off Vande Bharat Express connecting Howrah to New Jalpaiguri.

He will also inaugurate the Joka-Taratala stretch of the Purple Line of Kolkata Metro, lay the foundation stone, and dedicate various Railway projects to the nation.

PM will reach INS Netaji Subhas at 12 Noon, pay floral tribute at the statue of Netaji Subhas and inaugurate Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, (National Institute of Water and Sanitation) (DSPM – NIWAS).

He will also lay the foundation stone and dedicate multiple sewerage infrastructure projects for West Bengal under National Mission for Clean Ganga. The second meeting of the National Ganga Council will be chaired by Prime Minister at around 12:25 PM.

PM at INS Netaji Subhas:-

On 30th December 2022, Prime Minister will chair the 2nd meeting of the National Ganga Council (NGC) in Kolkata, in another step to boost Cooperative Federalism in the country.

Union Minister for Jal Shakti, other Union Ministers who are members of the council, and Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal will attend the meeting. The National Ganga Council has been given the responsibility for supervising pollution prevention and the rejuvenation of River Ganga and its tributaries.

More than Rs 990 crore will be spent on 7 sewerage infrastructure projects (20 Sewage Treatment Plants and a 612 km network) that the Prime Minister will inaugurate developed under National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG).

The municipalities of Nabadwip, Kacharapra, Budge-Budge Halishar, Barrackpore, Uttrapara Kotrung, Chandan Nagar, Bansberia, Baidyabati, Garulia, Bhadreshwar, Naihati, Titagarh, and Panihati will benefit from these projects. The state of West Bengal will gain an additional Sewage Treatment Capacity of 200 MLD from these projects.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for 5 sewerage infrastructure projects (8 Sewage Treatment Plants and an 80 Km Network) to be developed under the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) at an approximate cost of Rs 1585 crore.

Adding these 190 MLD STP capacity projects will help improve the water situation in West Bengal. These projects will benefit areas including North Barrackpore, Hooghly-Chinsura, Kolkata KMC area- Garden Reach & Adi Ganga (Tolly Nala), and Mahestala town.

At an estimated cost of around Rs 100 Crore, the Prime Minister will inaugurate Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee – National Institute of Water and Sanitation (DSPM – NIWAS), which has been refined. at Joka, Diamond Harbour Road, Kolkata.

The Institute will serve as an apex body in the country on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), serving as a hub of information and knowledge for Central, State, and local governments.

PM at Howrah Railway Station:-

At the Howrah Railway Station, the Prime Minister will flag off the Vande Bharat Express, connecting Howrah to New Jalpaiguri. The Semi High-Speed Train is equipped with modern passenger amenities. The train will stop at Malda Town, Barsoi, and Kishanganj stations en route in both directions.

The Joka-Taratala Stretch of the Joka-Esplanade Metro Project (Purple Line) will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. More than Rs 2475 Crore was spent to construct the 6.5 km stretch with 6 stations, which are Joka, Thakurpukur, Sakher Bazar, Behala Chowrasta, Behala Bazar, and Taratala.

The inauguration of this project will benefit passengers from southern parts of Kolkata City, such as Sarsuna, Dakghar, Muchipara, and South 24 Parganas.

Prime Minister will dedicate four railway projects to the Nation during the program. This sentence includes the Boinchi – Shaktigarh 3rd Line, the Dankuni – Chandanpur 4th Line Project, the Nimtita – New Farakka Double Line, and the Ambari Falakata – New Maynaguri – Gumanihat Doubling Project, all of which were developed at a cost of more than Rs 1080 crore.

More than Rs.335 crore will be spent to redevelop the New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, for which the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone.
