PM Modi to visit Maharashtra on 12th January, to inaugurate multiple development projects

Maharashtra: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Maharashtra on January 12, 2024, promises to be a momentous occasion marked by significant inaugurations and launches that will shape the state’s and the nation’s future.

National Youth Festival Inauguration:

The day begins with the inauguration of the 27th National Youth Festival in Nashik. Under the theme “Viksit Bharat@ 2047: युवा के लिए, युवा के द्वारा” (Developed India@ 2047: For Youth, By Youth), the festival aims to provide a platform for approximately 7500 youth delegates from across the country to share experiences and contribute to the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewari:

Prime Minister Modi’s vision for improved urban mobility takes a giant leap with the inauguration and travel on the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewari – Nhava Sheva Atal Setu in Mumbai. With a total cost exceeding Rs 17,840 crore, this 21.8 km long 6-lane bridge, including a sea stretch of 16.5 km, stands as the longest bridge in India and the longest sea bridge, promising faster connectivity to Mumbai and Navi Mumbai International Airports. It is a vital link expected to reduce travel time between Mumbai, Pune, Goa, and South India while enhancing connectivity between Mumbai Port & Jawaharlal Nehru Port.

Public Programme in Navi Mumbai:

In Navi Mumbai, Prime Minister Modi will participate in a public programme where he will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation, and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects valued at more than Rs 12,700 crore.

Among the noteworthy projects, the foundation stone of a 9.2 km underground road tunnel connecting Eastern Freeway’s Orange Gate to Marine Drive will be laid. Priced at over Rs 8700 crore, this tunnel is a significant infrastructure development in Mumbai aimed at reducing travel time between Orange Gate and Marine Drive.

Prime Minister Modi will also dedicate phase 1 of the Surya regional bulk drinking water project, a Rs 1975 crore initiative benefiting around 14 lakh people in Palghar and Thane districts.

Railway projects worth about Rs 2000 crore, including the dedication of ‘Phase 2 of the Uran-Kharkopar railway line,’ the inauguration of a new suburban station ‘Digha Gaon,’ and the new 6th Line between Khar Road & Goregaon railway station, will be launched during the programme. These projects are set to significantly benefit daily commuters in Mumbai.

Moreover, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the ‘Bharat Ratnam’ (Mega Common Facilitation Centre) for the Gems and Jewellery sector at Santacruz Electronic Export Processing Zone- Special Economic Zone (SEEPZ SEZ), housing state-of-the-art facilities. The launch of the New Enterprises & Services Tower (NEST)- 01 at SEEPZ- SEZ, primarily for Gem & Jewellery sector units, will also take place.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will launch the Namo Mahila Shashaktikaran Abhiyaan, an initiative to empower women in Maharashtra through skill development training and entrepreneurship exposure.

As Prime Minister Modi’s visit unfolds, it symbolizes a commitment to robust infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and transformative projects that aim to propel Maharashtra and India towards a brighter and more prosperous future.
