PM Modi Mourns Loss of Scientist Dr. Kasturirangan

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Dr. K. Kasturirangan, a towering figure in India’s scientific and educational realms. Dr. K. Kasturirangan served as the Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), where he played a pivotal role in advancing India’s space missions. Under his stewardship, India achieved several critical milestones in satellite launches and earned global recognition for its growing space capabilities.

PM Modi further added: “With unwavering dedication, he led ISRO to remarkable milestones, elevating India’s space programme to global acclaim. His visionary leadership oversaw ambitious satellite missions and fostered a strong culture of innovation.”

“India will remain forever indebted to Dr. Kasturirangan for his pivotal role in shaping the National Education Policy (NEP) and for fostering a more holistic, future-ready approach to learning. He also stood as a remarkable mentor to countless young scientists and researchers,” the Prime Minister noted.

Beyond his achievements in space science, Dr. Kasturirangan was also instrumental in shaping modern education in India. As the chief architect behind the National Education Policy (NEP), he laid the foundation for a more holistic, multidisciplinary, and student-centric approach to learning.
