Petrochemical Complex at Bina Refinery

In a major boost to industrial development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Petrochemical Complex at Bina Refinery, operated by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). With an estimated cost of approximately ₹49,000 crore, this state-of-the-art refinery is set to produce about 1200 Kilo-Tonnes Per Annum (KTPA) of ethylene and propylene. These vital components find applications in sectors such as textiles, packaging, and pharmaceuticals, contributing significantly to reducing India’s import dependence. This project aligns with the vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and promises to generate employment opportunities while catalyzing downstream industries in the petroleum sector.

Key Infrastructure Projects

During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone for several other essential projects in Madhya Pradesh:

  1. Power and Renewable Energy Manufacturing Zone, Narmadapuram: With an investment exceeding ₹460 crore, this project aims to stimulate economic growth and employment generation in the region.
  2. IT Parks in Indore: Two IT parks in Indore, constructed at a cost of around ₹550 crore, will foster the IT and ITES sector, offering new employment prospects for the youth.
  3. Mega Industrial Park in Ratlam: A project valued at over ₹460 crore, this industrial park is poised to become a major hub for textiles, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, and more. Its strategic location, connected to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, promises to boost economic development and create numerous employment opportunities.
  4. New Industrial Areas: To promote balanced regional development and uniform employment opportunities, six new industrial areas will be established in Shajapur, Guna, Mauganj, Agar Malwa, Narmadapuram, and Maksi, with a combined investment of approximately ₹310 crore.

Prime Minister’s Visit to Chhattisgarh

Rail Sector Projects

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Chhattisgarh will witness the dedication of crucial rail sector projects, collectively valued at around ₹6,350 crore. These projects are poised to enhance connectivity and socio-economic development:

  1. Chhattisgarh East Rail Project Phase-I: Under the ambitious PM GatiShakti – National Master Plan, this project comprises a 124.8 km rail line from Kharsia to Dharamjaygarh, along with feeder lines connecting coal mines. Constructed at a cost of approximately ₹3,055 crore, it will facilitate coal transportation from Mand-Raigarh coalfields in Chhattisgarh, promoting economic growth.
  2. 3rd Rail Line Projects: The third rail line between Pendra Road to Anuppur, spanning 50 km, and the 98 km third line between Champa and Jamga, together costing around ₹1,312 crore, will improve connectivity, boost tourism, and create employment opportunities.
  3. MGR (Merry-Go-Round) System: A 65-km-long electrified MGR system will transport high-grade coal from NTPC’s Talaipalli coal mine to the NTPC Lara Super Thermal Power Station in Chhattisgarh. Valued at over ₹2,070 crore, this system enhances energy security by delivering low-cost, reliable power.

Healthcare and Sickle Cell Disease Initiatives

During his visit to Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for 50-bedded ‘critical care blocks’ in nine districts under the Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM). This initiative, costing over ₹210 crore, aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and accessibility across the state.

Additionally, to address health issues related to sickle cell disease, the Prime Minister will distribute one lakh sickle cell counseling cards to the screened population. This distribution falls under the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission (NSAEM), launched by Prime Minister Modi in July 2023, furthering the nation’s commitment to healthcare.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visit to Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh signifies a concerted effort to drive growth, connectivity, and healthcare advancements in the regions. These initiatives align with the broader vision of a prosperous and self-reliant India, emphasizing infrastructure development, job creation, and the well-being of citizens.
