President Addresses The Special Session Of The Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

On the 21st of February President Draupadi Murmu addresses the special session of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly at Itaganar.

President said, “I am happy that the sun of development is shining brightly in Arunachal Pradesh. Arunachal Pradesh is today an important source of progress for India. This state and its simple and loyal residents are making invaluable contributions to the country’s economic and social progress”.

Droupadi Murmu said that Discipline and propriety are the hallmarks of the parliamentary system. We must ensure that the content and quality of the debate are of the highest order. Also, we need to build a consensus on the issues of development and public welfare.

She said, “Arunachal Pradesh has pledged to show commitment to climate change through the Pakke Declaration. I hope that taking inspiration from this, other states will also move forward toward adopting this model”.

She said, “A vibrant system of self-rule and grassroots democracy has existed in this land of Arunachal for centuries. The tribal culture imbibes the core principles of true democracy and good governance by being fair, transparent, and accountable in fulfilling the aspirations of its group”.

President said that The participation of women should increase in all the state assemblies including Arunachal Pradesh Assembly and in other institutions of people’s representation. I believe that for the overall and inclusive development of our country, the participation of women should be more in every field of work.

She said, “Arunachal Pradesh has the potential to emerge as the ‘Natural Fruit Bowl’ of the country. The state ranks first in the production of ‘Khasi mandarin’ oranges and kiwi, while it ranks second in the country in the production of large cardamom”.

She said, “The culture, diversity, and natural beauty of Arunachal Pradesh give the state a special place in India. Today, the whole country is looking at Arunachal Pradesh with a new perspective because of its potential and the achievements of its people”.
