On the 13th of January President Droupadi Murmu congratulates everyone on Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Magh Bihu, and Pongal. These festivals are symbols of India’s unity in diversity and are carriers of our culture. May these festivals bind fellow citizens in the bond of love and harmony and bring happiness and prosperity to all.
She said, “Our culture is carried by these festivals which are symbols of India’s unity in diversity. Different regions celebrate them in various forms, but their aim is always to strengthen the spirit of social harmony and brotherhood. We express our gratitude to nature by celebrating these festivals”.
She wishes that all of these festivals would bind different communities in India together with the bonds of love, harmony, and affection and that they would bring happiness and prosperity to all.
Droupadi murmu said on Twitter, ” heartiest greetings to all the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Magh Bihu and Pongal. Symbols of unity in diversity, all these festivals are carriers of Indian culture. she wishes that these festivals strengthen the bond of love, harmony, and affection among all the countrymen”.
