President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the ‘Wide Plate Mill Facility’ at MIDHANI, Hyderabad. The new facility aims towards self-reliance by rolling ultra-high strength steel and producing superalloys for national strategic programs.
The wide plate mill facility will meet the requirements of special steel plates for national strategic programs and also facilitate the production of import substitutes.
“This mill can roll ultra-high strength steel to very low thicknesses due to its very high capacity of rolling force.” “The technology for processing superalloy plates has been established in a very short time,” the company said.
Among the few modern metallurgical plants in the world, MIDHANI, under the Ministry of Defence, manufactures a wide range of superalloys, titanium, alloys, and special steel”.
