The Central University of Jharkhand witnessed a momentous occasion as the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, graced and addressed the third convocation ceremony in Ranchi on February 28, 2024. Speaking to the graduating students, President Murmu underscored the invaluable contribution of youth towards shaping India’s future and urged them to embrace their role as agents of change and progress.
In her address, President Murmu emphasized that the youth represent India’s greatest asset and capital, considering the country’s substantial young population. With India poised to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2030 and aiming for developed nation status by 2047, she highlighted the immense opportunities and responsibilities that lie ahead for the youth.
President Murmu urged the graduates to not only strive for personal success but also to actively contribute to nation-building and societal development. She emphasized the moral duty of the youth to work towards creating a prosperous and harmonious society, ensuring dignity and inclusivity for all individuals, especially those from marginalized communities.
Expressing her affinity towards Jharkhand and its tribal communities, President Murmu acknowledged the rich cultural heritage and sustainable lifestyle practices prevalent among the tribal populace. She urged students to draw inspiration from tribal traditions, particularly their harmonious coexistence with nature, to address contemporary challenges like climate change.
Appreciating the Central University of Jharkhand’s commitment to environmental sustainability, President Murmu lauded the campus’s eco-friendly design and green architecture principles. She commended the university’s efforts in promoting environmental awareness and cultural preservation through special centers dedicated to local language, literature, and music.
President Murmu’s address served as a source of inspiration for the graduating students, motivating them to embark on their professional journeys with a sense of purpose and responsibility towards society and the environment. The convocation ceremony not only celebrated academic achievements but also reaffirmed the university’s commitment to holistic education and societal well-being.
As the convocation concluded, President Murmu left an indelible mark on the graduating students, instilling in them a sense of pride in their cultural heritage, a commitment to environmental stewardship, and a determination to contribute meaningfully to the progress and prosperity of India.
