New Delhi: In a momentous occasion that marked the strengthening of diplomatic ties between India and Tanzania, President Droupadi Murmu accorded a grand ceremonial welcome to Her Excellency, Ms. Samia Suluhu Hassan, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, at the historic Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
The ceremonial welcome, which took place on a balmy morning at the majestic forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan, was characterized by military honors, a guard of honor, and the playing of the national anthems of both countries. President Murmu warmly received President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who is on her first official state visit to India since assuming office as Tanzania’s head of state in March 2021.
The visit holds significant importance as it comes at a time when both nations are keen to expand their cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, healthcare, and defense.
The ceremonial welcome and the subsequent discussions between President Droupadi Murmu and President Samia Suluhu Hassan underline the cordial and fruitful relations between India and Tanzania. As both nations look ahead to a future of increased cooperation, this visit sets the stage for a stronger partnership that will benefit the people of both countries and contribute to regional and global stability and development.
